The Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI), Mimoza Kusari-Lila, officially welcomed the municipal inspectors who will now work within the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance (CIMS).
On this occasion, Minister Kusari-Lila welcomed 15 inspectors transferred from the local level, in accordance with the Law on the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance.
She said that with this step, we are strengthening the capacities of the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, which operates within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, while advancing the implementation of the market surveillance reform.
With this transfer, according to the Minister, the total number of CIMS inspectors has increased to 39, from the current 24 plus 15 new inspectors. She also announced that, in the second phase of implementing the law, by the end of 2026, we aim to increase this number to 100 inspectors, doubling our market surveillance capacities across the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
Minister Kusari-Lila stressed that this expansion of capacities will contribute to stronger protection of consumer rights, ensure product safety, increase compliance with the applicable legislation, and build a fairer, more reliable, and safer market for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
