Minister Rozeta Hajdari has met with CEFTA representatives

Minister of Economy, Labour, Trade, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Investments Rozeta Hajdari has met with CEFTA representatives, where they discussed important points for eliminating trade barriers and strengthening Kosovo’s role in the regional integration.

On this occasion, Minister Rozeta Hajdari has pledged to proceed with CEFTA's "Additional Protocol 5 and 6" to the Kosovo Parliament for ratification, as soon as possible.

Whereas, in the "Additional Protocol 7", the Minister will take care that the procedures in the   Government be completed as soon as possible so that we have an official Kosovo Negotiation Team. "It is important for us to advance this process as it would strengthen the mechanism for resolving trade disputes, which unfortunately our region constantly faces with trade barriers," said Minister Hajdari.

Also, at the meeting, the Minister emphasized that even at the point “Multi-annual Action Plan 2.0” – Kosovo supports any initiative that contributes to the advancement of regional cooperation always to the benefit of all CEFTA countries. "It is important for us to have a sound cooperation with all countries in the region, working actively to eliminate all non-tariff barriers, therefore I am asking for an even more active role of the CEFTA Secretariat towards identifying and resolving trade barriers”, said Minister Hajdari.

Minister Rozeta Hajdari stressed that she is hoping for the advancement of the professional qualifications recognition process and she has also shown a commitment to support the Secretariat in this process for finding the best possible solution considering the current circumstances of our region.

As for the “100% tariff and reciprocity”, Minister Hajdari announced that we are considering all possibilities and will soon come up with a proposal, but it must be understood correctly that Kosovo was obliged to act in this way, taking into account the approach and discrimination that has been made to Kosovo in trade reports by CEFTA member countries.
