Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, on January 19, 2022, participated in the debate FOL Hapur organized by the FOL Movement.
The topic of discussion was the implementation of the Government Work Plan for the period March-December 2021, the priorities and challenges faced by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade.
Initially, Minister Hajdari presented the achievements of the MIET strategic plan for 2021, which are: Improving the environment for doing business; Development of industrial and trade policies; Development of entrepreneurship, innovation and industrial property; Sustainable development through tourism; Promotion and support of investments as well as Improvement of quality infrastructure, including consumer protection.
Minister Hajdari stressed that MIET has managed to implement 80% of the measures as obligations deriving from the European Agenda Plan, including the implementation of the SAA, where 11 laws have been approved by the Government, some of them have already been approved by Parliament and 4 laws are in the approval procedure.
Following the achievements of MIET, Mrs. Hajdari mentioned the improvement of market surveillance, in which there was a 54% increase in inspections compared to the previous year. The achievements regarding the possibility of businesses to benefit in the Single Market Program, the protection measures in the field of trade, strategy and the creation of the tourism brand for Kosovo, etc. were emphasized.
Minister Hajdari paid special attention to the increase of foreign direct investments, where in 2021 there was 52.9% more investments compared to 2020. Increase in the value of exports by 62.7% compared to the previous year based on the report of the Central Bank of Kosovo. Increased confidence in the new government, where 300% more customer complaints addressed to MIET have been received. Regarding the violations of consumer rights in the local market, 2000 complaints were addressed regarding the quality of products and services. At the end of the FOL Hapur debate, Minister Hajdari talked to media representatives and informed them about MIET priorities for 2022.
