The Minister of Trade and Industry, along with the Inspectorate of this ministry, has carried out the inspection of the markets in Pristina aiming to check the prices in shelves and at the cash point.
Minister Shala said that this is being done in order to precisely implement the Law on Consumer Protection.
"Today, along with the Inspectorate of the Ministry, in the course of our activities, in order to precisely implement the Law on Consumer Protection, we have decided to come to extraordinary inspections in Pristina. Through the inspectorate we have requested from all other municipal inspectorates to undertake extraordinary inspections on the prices of products sold in Kosovo, and verify that the product which is being sold at the point sale with the value presented to the citizen, comply with the value at the cash point, "said Minister Shala.
Minister Shala said that today's inspection results are good news for citizens, as according to him, businesses have also became aware.
"This is good news for our citizens because our businesses are aware, and after our extensive inspections, we do not allow any possible fraud to our customer."
Shala announced that MTI inspections will be permanent and ongoing in other sectors as well.
"I invite you, the journalists to show every concern, and also inform MTI to take the necessary measures so our customer can be sure of what they buy. All this, does not mean that we are doing something against the business, but in this case we are helping our customer, but we are also raising the awareness of the businesses, "said Shala.
