Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, held a meeting with the donor community, expressing gratitude for the continued assistance they have given to the Government of Kosovo and to MTI.
Shala stressed that donor support is very necessary for Kosovo's path towards the European Union.
“Very grateful, initially the continuous assistance from donors that supported the Government of Republic of Kosovo, especially those that supported the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
We are currently working on several projects that support business development and the development of trade and industry policies, which will have an impact on improving the lives of citizens. Moreover, the process of European integration for Kosovo is the fundamental value and the country's main priority for accession to the great European family. Thus, the measures envisaged in the European agenda and their implementation by local institutions are Kosovo's main roadmap in terms of economic development and overall prosperity of the country. In this context, donor support, including direct financial assistance and expertise, are more than necessary, "said Minister Shala.
Shala noted that also for the upcoming year they will continue working on the implementation of the SAA as a priority, and improving the environment for doing business.
“Honorable donors, the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2019 will continue to work by prioritizing the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, further improving the business environment, enhancing the quality of infrastructure, development of local tourism, and consumer protection by improving market supervision.

Shala expressed readiness to continue cooperation with the aim of advancing state policies towards sustainable economic development.
