Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, in the presence of the counterparts of Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland, signed the Joint Declaration on Cooperation with these four EFTA member countries in Geneva.
This document of a strategic importance to the Republic of Kosovo foresees the deepening of economic cooperation with EFTA. It also foresees the initiation of negotiations for Free Trade Agreements with EFTA countries in 2019.
Minister Shala said that this day is a special moment for the state of Kosovo and for the economy, as this is a step towards concluding the agreement on free trade.
"This is a special moment for our state, for our economy, since it is a step ahead, on the right track towards reaching the free trade agreement with these countries. Such an agreement means that all products produced in Kosovo are exported to Switzerland and to the other aforementioned countries with no tax charged. In the light of our work to promoting domestic production and export, we are paving the way and finding new partners and markets for our products", said Minister Shala.
