For the third time consecutively Kosovo companies are participating in the International Fair of Furniture and Interior “IMM”, which is being held in Cologne, Germany from 14-20 January 2019.
In support of Kosovo companies, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala visited the products of Kosovar companies presented at this fair, which is one of the largest international furniture and interior fairs.
Given the support to local producers, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, under the leadership of Minister Endri Shala has placed the wood sector as a top priority, which due to the export realised so far deserves maximum appreciation, and despite the high cost has enabled the participation of Kosovo businesses in this very important Fair for entrepreneurs.
For this fair, where Kosovo companies present their products in spaces of over 500 m2, MTI/KIESA has allocated a budget of EUR 77.187 (this budget had remained to UNDP, and UNDP made the payment of this amount directly to the organizer of IMM), while the remaining part was covered by USAID, GIZ, SIDA and Kosovo companies themselves.
Kosovo companies participating in this fair include: “ELNOR”, “ALBED”, “GRANITI” and “VENTIUS” (Comodita producer of mattresses), presenting their products including: kitchens, bedrooms, sofas, tables, chairs, mattresses and other elements of interior.
Therefore, MTI and KIESA, through institutional means, are incentivizing manufacturing companies for participation in international fairs aiming to promote Kosovar products and at the same time to create opportunities for export growth, and particularly to improve Kosovo's image through good presentation and exhibition of quality products.
Knowing that the European market is attractive for Kosovo producers both in terms of the distance as well as for exchanging experiences, this sector has been foreseen in the MTI/KIESA work plan for organizing participation in both IMM 2019 and MOW 2019.
The experience of participating in these fair has shown that the wood sector is constantly growing and that products from this sector are establishing new and safe markets for export towards Europe.
Based on the last year's data from AWPK, it is expected that in 2019 the value of export will reach to 900 thousand euros, as a result of Kosovar products exhibition at this fair.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry, under the leadership of Minister Endrit Shala, is continuously committed to supporting and promoting local businesses.
