Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, opened the tenth meeting of the National Council on Economic Development, which addressed many topics, in particular business support.
Minister Shala stressed that he will continue to strengthen the Council, considering it as a useful platform for dialogue.
"We will continue to strengthen this council as a useful platform of public-private dialogue where we will address the key priorities and challenges for the comprehensive implementation of reforms, which will affect the improvement of the business environment in the Republic of Kosovo, "said Minister Shala.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj stressed that "there is no dilemma that without a common co-ordination and without having the role of each of us, it will be difficult to secure a genuine economic development agenda."
At today's meeting were discussed topics from the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce as: handling of Public Procurement issues – integration of alternative mechanisms, initiation of analysis on implementation of the Law on Consumer Protection. At the same time, the topic of discussion was discussed by the Chamber of Doing Business in Kosovo, as a request for the abrogation of the Administrative Instruction by the Ministry of Agriculture, which especially affects the mining and mineral sector, Re-functionalization of Commercial Court on business issues. It was also discussed the topic of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, as "Handling the issue of losses from evaporation of products". As well as, about ERO, KEDS – the matter of the ownership of the Substations and the manner of their way for reimbursement, the creation of a special fund for grants and subsidies for SMEs, and the establishment of a scheme for providing soft and interest free loans.
