Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, hosted today the Minister of Economy of North Macedonia, Kreshnik Bekteshi, who discussed the solution of trade barriers between the two countries.
Minister Shala emphasized that they have agreed to find a solution for removing the barriers.
“We have discussed about some problems that some of our businesses have recently encountered while doing business in North Macedonia. We, as the Government of Kosovo, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Food and Veterinary Agency, have agreed today to send additional guarantees to North Macedonia. Is not obliged to have these guarantees with other signatory countries of CEFTA. By Friday, our Veterinary Agency will assure that of North Macedonia for the active monitoring program in order to make it easier for KVFA in Macedonia to then market that product to the EU. During this week, the FVAF in Macedonia is expected to remove the barrier to Kosovo, but once this takes place by two sides, we as MTI will eliminate the measure imposed by us as MTI, “said Shala.
He announced that he had asked the party of North Macedonian to have trade relations without barriers.
“We are interested in overcoming the situation and we wish that the same situation will not be repeated. We are willing to have barrier-free trade relations with everyone, because we are partners on our way to the European Union, by respecting each other. It is about the time that others trust us in our work and control as much as we trust them,”Shala said.
Whereas, the Minister of Economy of North Macedonia, Kreshnik Bekteshi, said that they are interested in finding a solution and in continuing trade relations with the Republic of Kosovo.
