Ministry of Trade and Industry, today has marked the World Tourism Day with certain activities organized in Peja and with Kosovo Tourism Associations, NGO-s and tour-operators in Kosovo
The Acting Minister of Trade and Industry Arbëreshë Krasniqi officially opened this activity.
Krasniqi stated that the ministry she leads has given priority to tourism development with concrete things, establishing the Department of Tourism.
“In order to show commitment to tourism, as a strategic sector of economic development, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has established the Tourism Department to enable initiating and developing favourable policies and to promote Kosovo as a tourist destination. Among other things, during this year, we have started with the establishment of legal infrastructure as a basis for expanding the tourist offer and the safety of tourists and protection of their rights", said Minister Krasniqi.
She also spoke on the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Japan Tourism Agency, in the framework of exchanging experiences with friendly countries.
“Particular attention is paid to the promotion of good relations with friendly countries so that Kosovo is a unique tourism destination. Recently, we have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of tourism with the Japan Tourism Agency, which aims at mutual exchanging of information, experiences and knowledge in the field of tourism through increasing the number of tourists between the two countries, said Krasniqi.
MTI's new initiatives on Kosovo tourism development will have an impact in making Kosovo an important tourist destination.
