The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, participated in the public consultation with around 50 businesses from Gjilan, marking the second step in the process of constructing the Industrial Park in this municipality, more than one month after the transfer of ownership of the property from the Municipality of Gjilan to the Ministry for the implementation of this project.
The purpose of the meeting was to hear the recommendations and needs of the business community during the design phase of the Industrial Park, with the aim that this development project reflects the real requirements of entrepreneurs and is built in close partnership with them.
Together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, Minister Kusari-Lila presented the potential that the Industrial Park is expected to have for the economic development of the region and for creating more favourable conditions for investment and industrial development.
During the meeting, it was announced that the feasibility study for the project has already been completed by the Municipality of Gjilan, while the next phase is the drafting of the final project. The Industrial Park will extend over an area of 150 hectares, ranking among the largest industrial zones in Kosovo and creating new opportunities for attracting strategic investors and developing industrial sectors.
According to the project concept, the Industrial Park will be built on the principles of sustainable development and the green economy, with clean energy supply through solar panels and wind energy, as well as the integration of circular economy elements and the reuse of materials in various industrial processes. The organization of production sectors according to the same or similar activities is also planned within the park.
Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized that this public consultation represents the second phase of cooperation between MIETI and the Municipality of Gjilan, with the aim of developing the vision for the Industrial Park in close cooperation with the business community.
The Industrial Park will be built in the village of Lipovç i Epërm, near the Prishtina–Gjilan highway, a strategically located site that is expected to create new jobs, promote local products, and contribute to the economic development of the Gjilan region
