Minister of Trade and Industry Endrit Shala has signed a cooperation agreement with the head of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) office in Kosovo, Gunther Zimmer.
The agreement will serve the private sector aiming to create mitigation measures, which will further develop the private sector and raise entrepreneurial awareness in Kosovo.
Minister Shala said that it is important to note that the measures have been adapted to promote changes in the system of better functioning of enterprises, in a comprehensive market system methodology facilitating stakeholder activities and ensuring systemic impact.
“The project as such will seek to increase the results of higher incomes and employment opportunities in more sustainable market systems. The project will contribute to strengthen the competitiveness of private sector companies and increase their revenues through sustainable market access and stronger regional and cross-border links. Such measures increase productivity and profitability due to diversified and improved services of the business development and digitization. Key institutional actors will be supported to improve and adapt their services and policies, to ensure sustainability and greater involvement in all areas of entrepreneurship, “said Shala.
This project aims to deliver results by providing new relevant digital tools and services that will be available and used by the Kosovo Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Kosovo SMEs will also improve their level of digitalisation and establish market linkages and business consultants to provide digitalisation services that are effective and affordable for SMEs.
“Therefore, the Ministry of Trade and Industry will continue to support the private sector and consequently further change the functioning of the Kosovar SMEs, for the economic development, access to foreign markets and employment growth. MTI will be an open door for all international and local mechanisms aiming to create together a friendly and conducive environment for the development of the entrepreneurial spirit”, emphasized Minister Shala.
