MTI held a donor coordination meeting

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) held a regular end-year meeting with donors on the work and support that was given to this ministry, as well as on coordinating actions that should be taken next year, 2018.

Beside the representatives of MTI, in this conference were present: the European Commission, USAID, Swisscontact, EBRD, World Bank, GIZ, Embassy of Croatia, Embassy of France, etc.

In the introductory speech, the minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, informed that he and the ministry he leads are willing to cooperate with donors in order to add services and activities in interest and support to overall economic and social development.

He said that he believes that during the next year there will be given financial support and technical assistance by donor community on initiated reform for the ministry’s priorities and improvement of areas of this ministry.

Further, minister Hasani pointed out that: "Supporting the Ministry's priorities in the industry sector, such as: support of small enterprises, investments promotion, trade policies, quality infrastructure; doing business environment, as well as many other areas, donors would be an incentive to implement MTI priorities and objectives for 2018, "he said.

At the end, Minister Hasani thanked donor community for the ongoing work and commitment they give to the Ministry of Trade and Industry in advancing activities and services provided within this ministry.

While, Acting Secretary General of the MTI, Gentiana Islamaj, in detail has presented the mutual cooperation that this ministry has with the donor community. In this regard, the representatives of the ministry’s departments also has specified their cooperation with this community and presented their objectives for next year, by expressing their confidence that the donors will continue to support their projects.

Also, at this meeting, donor representatives presented MTI activates that they have supported, and at the same time expressed their readiness to continue supporting them in 2018 as well.
