The minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, today signed the agreement for support of small and medium size businesses, also for employment of Kosovo youth through the Promoting Private Sector Employment Program (PPSE) funded by the Swiss Embassy, in worth 7 million and 280 thousand francs. On behalf of the PPSE, the agreement was signed by the director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosovo Patrick Etienne.
After signing the agreement, the director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosovo, Patrick Etienne, said that youth employment is a challenge for the country and for further developments.
He said that today we are signing the PPSE agreement with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which project promotes private sector employment, and which is an effort of the Swiss embassy to support the private sector, development and employment in Kosovo, with focus on employment of young people and women. "We are also focused on another phase of 7.28 million francs, while in general are invested about 20 million in four years, in employment and we hope to continue our cooperation with MTI," said Mr. Etienne.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, initially expressed his gratitude to the Swiss government, the Swiss people who are doing it for Kosovo, worth over 7 million Swiss francs, adding that this is the second phase of implementing this project, and there has been the first phase as well. He said that the purpose of this project is to strengthen small and medium size enterprises, with particular focus on youth employment and women's employment. Further, Minister Hasani pledged that this project, this agreement concluded and the grant granted today will be implemented during the next four years, up to 2021. We hope that the Swiss government continue to support MTI and people of Kosovo, in general” said Minister Hasani.
According to Minister Hasani, the Ministry of Trade and Industry will always be there to support and promotion the private sector and employment, with the main objective for creating better and appropriate environment for doing business and investments in Kosovo
