The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, along with the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, on November 4, 2021, has launched the campaign “Kosovo Business Days and dialogue with the private sector”, emphasizing support to local businesses.
Minister Hajdari said that since the beginning of her mandate, the ministry she leads has taken the title of Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, which, according to her, conveys a message of how governments are to help producers and entrepreneurs as well as the spirit of entrepreneurship.
The Minister also mentioned to businesses the priorities of the ministry. "The Government of the Republic of Kosovo together with the ministry I lead is in its specific priorities, with a total of 5 priorities of the ministry we lead. Such as, increasing the competitiveness of the private sector, promoting investment, innovation and entrepreneurship, and a special priority have quality infrastructure and tourism. Therefore, it is worth mentioning that tourism is one of the new priorities, as the 5th priority of this ministry and we are convinced that we have a lot of potential to develop the service industry, in addition to the manufacturing and processing industry ", stressed Minister Hajdari.
She also mentioned the resources of Kosovo and the potential of young people, which according to her, are sufficient motivation to work selflessly to create jobs for each of them and to return these resources to service in the general good of the people.
"Therefore, entrepreneurs and producers need a rule of law where laws are implemented, and above all where laws are created to serve the interests of entrepreneurs, who together with us see a bright future for the economy of our state. In this regard, only during the months of September and October, as well as the previous months, many laws have been approved by the government decision. "Apart from the Commercial Court, there is also the Law on Foreign Trade, the Law on Protection of Competition, the Law on Industrial Design, Patents, the Law on Economic Zones and the revision of the Law on Foreign Investments", stressed Minister Hajdari.
The Minister also spoke about the growth of businesses that has occurred this month. "While at the same time many businesses are registered, a total of 916 new businesses, which shows the increase of trust and hope of doing business in our country where only law and order rule," she said.
The Minister emphasized that in the same period, in October and earlier in September, in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, groups for drafting policies for innovation and entrepreneurship were established and the document for the 5th measure of the plan for economic reforms was finalized. 2022-2024.
"It is very important to mention that we as a ministry have taken some decisions such as anti-dumping protection measures, as well as protection measures for the blocks and concentrate from Serbia in the amount of 00.3 cents. On September 24, 2021 I sent a letter to CEFTA and addressed the issue of Kosovo in this mechanism. "Through the letter, I asked UNMIK to withdraw from this agreement in order that Kosovo have equal treatment with other states," declared the minister.
The Minister also stated that the economic growth that has taken place is a commitment of the government. "Economic growth cannot happen accidentally with a government that has priority and works for the same issue, sustainable economic growth and development, "said the minister.
While the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti emphasized that good governance, economic development and welfare of citizens, through applicable program are the vision of the government.
According to Prime Minister Kurti, welfare needs sustainable economic development, but also as fast as possible. "In the governing program, one of our strategic goals is to improve the competitiveness of enterprises, in the region and beyond, which we aim to achieve through the advancement of policies in the industry and investment sector, as well as the improvement of quality infrastructure services," stated Prime Minister Kurti.
The Prime Minister mentioned the fact that the ongoing dialogue between us is necessary to translate the vision and program of the government into the most effective and fruitful actions.
"The good work of the government is even attributed to the communication, cooperation and coordination between government policies and the business community," said Prime Minister Kurti.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade is conducting a business information campaign "Kosovo Business Days", which started on November 1 and will continue until December 17 this year in several municipalities of Kosovo.
