In 03-08 June 2024, the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, has carried out a wide inspection action on economic operators who carry out commercial activities – body maintenance activities (massage centre) and other entertainment and recreation activities (nightclubs).
The action was carried out by the Market Inspectorate at the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, namely the Directorate for the Investigation of Human Trafficking, as well as in cooperation with inspectors of the Tax Administration of Kosovo and the Central Labour Inspectorate, whereby, out of approximately 90 economic operators inspected, over 30 of them were closed.
The joint action has resulted in the temporary closure of over 30 economic operators in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo, due to non-registration of businesses as well as the lack of consent/decision to meet the minimum technical conditions.
According to the legislation in force, around 50 punitive measures have been imposed against economic operators who were operating in violation with the law.
The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate will, in accordance with the legal powers it has, continue the inspections in the following days and if violations are found, measures will be taken to prohibit the exercise of the activity as well as other punitive measures will be imposed according to the current legislation in force.
