With the start of the new school year, the Central Inspectorate of Market Supervision has intensified and is continuing inspection actions to prevent the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors, especially in business entities near educational facilities.
Today, the CIMS teams have conducted 18 inspections in several regions of the Republic of Kosovo, namely in Prishtina, Prizren, Fushë Kosovë, Rahovec, Istog, Shtime and Podujeva.
As part of these inspections, inspectors have ordered the immediate removal of electronic cigarettes from sale in stores near schools.
For non-compliance with legal provisions and inspectors’ orders, CIMS has imposed 3 fines, while 2 seizures were also carried out during the inspections.
The actions of the Central Inspectorate of Market Supervision to control compliance with legal provisions and the protection of minors will continue in the coming days, in all regions of the Republic of Kosovo, with the aim of ensuring a safer environment for children and students.
Within the framework of these actions, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation calls on all citizens, especially parents, to report any case of the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors near educational facilities.
