The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, through regular monitoring of the petroleum products market and based on daily evidence received from Kosovo Customs regarding supply/import prices of petroleum products, as well as the Market Inspectorate’s report on retail sale prices of petroleum products, has observed a discrepancy in local prices compared to significant price fluctuations in the global market, which serves as the basis/trigger for price regulation and the implementation of other protective measures.
In order to protect customers, ensure fair competition, and prevent market disruptions, MIET has decided to establish pricing and other protective measures for petroleum products.
According to the decision, the maximum allowed commercial margin for wholesale is two (2) euro cents per liter, while the maximum allowed commercial margin for retail sale is twelve (12) euro cents per liter.
The calculation of the maximum commercial margin allowed for wholesale and retail sales is determined by Article 4, paragraphs 1.1 and 1.2. of Administrative Instruction No. 03/2022 on Price Regulation of Petroleum Products and Renewable Fuels and Other Protective Measures.
This decision shall enter into force today (05.03.2024) and will be valid for a period of ninety (90) days.
The supervision of the implementation of this decision will be carried out by the Central Market Inspectorate in collaboration with the Customs and Tax Administration.
MIET would like to announce that the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate will be increasing market surveillance in the coming days to ensure the quality and quantity of petroleum products.
