The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Fadil Arifi, is attending the meeting of tourism group of experts in Sarajevo, which is organized by the Regional Cooperation Council.
In this meeting, respectively on 27th June were introduced the tourism regional project “Triple P Project”, and on 28th of June was launched the project.
In this event are participating also the members of group of tourism experts from Kosovo: Ms. Lumturije Geci and Mr. Kastriot Vrella from MTI.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Fadil Arifi stated that the six Western Balkan countries are very well connected to each other, both in terms of geography, economics, history, and why not connect with tourism. "The doctrine, the traditions, the culture of these six Balkan countries are so similar and well-connected, but the most beautiful thing is that each culture has something special, so this is something beautiful," said Deputy Minister Arifi .
Among other things, he stressed that our common tourist products as a region can be very attractive to more distant international visitors. But this goal certainly will only be achieved with a good will for cooperation from each Balkan country, while working and creating more favorable conditions for products development and promotion. But at the same time raising the quality of services and adapting European standards. "We all must see the tourism as one of the country's development opportunity, which provides a significant contribution to economic growth, job creation, regional and local development, improves the living standards of peoples, integrates nature, culture, history, gastronomy and traditional hospitality creatively based on economic experience and innovative ways. Kosovo offers detailed potentials for cultural and adventure tourism development, so projects such as Triple P are very good for us as there is a huge need to develop touristic products for adventurous and cultural tourism " , said Deputy Minister Arifi.
The regional tourism “Triple P Project” will include the six Balkan countries, a project in amount of five million euros for the next three years (2018-2021), which will include over 30 grants, where each grant will be worth 50,000 euros and the main criterion for application will be the inclusion of at least three countries together. The project focus will be tourism promotion, tourism policy development, and infrastructure improvement of the location. In this way, this will closely affect economic development, job growth and increase regional co-operation.
Therefore, Kosovo will also benefit in developing the cultural and adventurous tourist products, where these products will enter into joint regional bids along with the other five participating countries. Then promoting these common products, but above all will benefit the guarantors that this project offers.
The first guarantor information session for Kosovo is foreseen to be held by the end of July, with more detailed information being provided by the Regional Cooperation Council.
