Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Faton Thaçi, is staying for an official visit in Italy. Deputy Minister Thaçi participated in the roundtable meeting organized by the Municipality of Cuartatone (Mantova). Apart from the mayor of the municipality, at this meeting also were present representatives from the Italian Chamber of Commerce and a large group of Italian investors.
Deputy Minister Thaçi to the participants introduced the opportunities that provides Kosovo to foreign investors. On behalf of the Government of Kosovo, he invited investors to deepen the friendship between the two states in the economy as well.
“The current government has made positive changes and many fiscal facilities provides for all businesses operating in Kosovo. The recent steps that the Government has undertaken are the abolition of excise tax on raw materials, on semi-products and manufacturing machinery, so there is zero tax, "Thaci emphasized.
He also added: "As a government we have identified key development sectors in Kosovo that I am pleased to present to you. So, Kosovo is moving positively in agriculture, food processing and packaging, metal processing, textile and leather processing, wood and furniture processing, tourism, mining and mineral, and renewable energy " , stated Deputy Minister Thaçi.
Further, he said that the government is building a legal infrastructure which strongly protects investors and businesses.
In the framework of the law, to foreign investors will be given opportunity to use the parcel for 99 years and with zero cost for building their factories.
Doing business environment according to Deputy Minister Thaçi is considered positive from well-known international organizations.
Foreign investors has shown their interest to invest in Kosovo. In addition, they pledged that very soon they will came to visit Kosovo, and see the opportunities that provides our country to foreign investors.
