The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate from MINT in cooperation with the Kosovo Police from the Sector for the Investigation of Economic Crimes, today carried out inspections in three locations in Pristina, with the suspicion that various products were being sold in bulk in those locations, which are suspected to be without origin, some counterfeit products and which are suspected of changing the expiry date of the products.
During the performed inspections, a significant amount of goods was encountered for which the owner was unable to present the documents of origin.
After establishing that the goods are without origin, the Kosovo Customs – Anti-Smuggling Unit were notified, who seized a significant amount of goods, suspected of being smuggled, while the Market Inspectorate blocked the warehouse, temporarily closing it until the case is concluded by the Kosovo Customs.
The Kosovo Police have notified the competent Prosecutor from the Basic Prosecution Office inPristina for further procedures regarding this case.
