The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, and the Swiss Ambassador, Thomas Kolly, signed the agreement for the third phase on Promoting Private Sector Employment (PPSE) project.

Initially, Minister Hajdari thanked the Swiss Government and the Agency for Development and Cooperation for their continued support of private sector development, capacity building, tourism policy making, and tourism promotion of local products.

She was grateful for the excellent work of the Swiss cooperation in the tourism sector and stressed that among other priorities, the food processing sector and the tourism sector play an extremely important role.

"Increasing the private sector competitiveness, enabling small and medium enterprises to diversify products and services, both in domestic and foreign markets, are the main preconditions for increasing exports and national income," said the minister.

Minister Hajdari said that they are working on drafting policies and improving the legal framework of industry and tourism, developing and promoting the tourism brand, as well as identifying priority areas and locations in this sector.

"Now in the post-pandemic phase, the recovery of this sector presents new opportunities for further growth and employment," she added.

To exploit the potentials of natural and cultural tourism, as a key to sustainable economic development, the new national tourism strategy includes support for rural tourism, including support in the construction of inns, increase of accommodation capacity, support in human capacity building, as well as encouraging the responsible institutions in regulating the infrastructure in the tourist destinations.

MINT will be pro-active to ensure the smooth running of the PPSE project, to ensure the achievement of targeted results that will contribute to the implementation of the national tourism strategy.

Success and good work to the PPSE project implementation team.
