In this important event for the tourism of the Republic of Kosovo have participated the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, the Deputy Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Linda Çavdarbasha, The Ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, the Representative of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in the Western Balkans, Stefania Vizzaccaro as well as the mayors and other tourism actors involved in this project.
Initially, Minister Hajdari announced that the government program with the main focus on Labour & Justice treats the tourism sector with priority and as a major contributor to economic development and job creation, through the development of cultural tourism and natural tourism. She said that from the measures proposed by MIET in the Economic Reform Program 2022-2024, are included measures to increase competitiveness in the tourism and hotel sector.
In this context, Minister Hajdari stressed that the project "NaturKosovo: Natural and cultural heritage in Kosovo and sustainable tourism development of Via Dinarica" directly contributes to the development of tourism and at the same time is in line with the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade.
"With our cultural and natural resources and good cooperation with neighbouring countries, we can create joint offers from this border and beyond across the border, to develop our region with 6 economies of the Western Balkan countries, where each country will integrate more quickly into the European Union and will create a brighter future for citizens and the younger generations. The creation of cross-border paths with the countries of the region shows that the influx of tourists is increasing in Kosovo. Via Dinarica trail but also other trails like the peaks of the Balkans are success stories of how active and adventurous tourism works and the development of many other outdoor activities and cultural heritage "added Minister Hajdari.
Minister Hajdari also mentioned the good works that are being realized in this governing mandate for the benefit of tourism, such as: the new tourism law, the national tourism strategy, the tourism brand and the agreement for the creation of a mutual digital information and promotion platform between Kosovo and Albania, which will enable Kosovo to offer many products, especially adventure tourism, cultural, agritourism and ecotourism for local and international visitors as an attractive tourist destination.
The objective of the project "NaturKosovo: natural and cultural capital in Kosovo and sustainable tourism development of Via Dinarica" is to promote the sustainable development of tourism, through the protection and expansion of the Kosovo extension of Via Dinarica, in the municipal area of Peja, Deçan and Junik.
