The Kosovo Metrology Agency, which operates within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, has marked the World Metrology Day with several activities.
Officials of the Metrology Agency have distributed leaflets in the main square of Pristina, informing the citizens of Kosovo about the importance of this agency in the development and support of business, as well as consumer protection.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Metrology Agency, Ferki Fejza, said that this is a day marked globally. He stressed that they are working on improving the legislation, harmonizing it with that of the European Union. Fejza emphasized that the laboratory equipment of the Kosovo Metrology Agency are advanced and used by neighbouring countries, adding that the measurements are accurate and in order to protect the consumer and increase the security of economic transactions.
Otherwise, May 20 marks the anniversary of the signing of the meter convention, and is marked as "World Metrology Day". The motto of this day for 2021 is "Measurements for health".
The Metrology Agency supports the scientific development in the country by providing international references of measurement etalons of the scientific, industrial and medical community.
