📑During the years 2021-2023, we drafted and approved 5 laws and 8 administrative instructions for regulating and strengthening industrial property in full compliance with EU directives.✅
⚖ These laws include: Law on Trademarks, Law on Semiconductor Topographies, Law on Industrial Designs and Law on Patents.✅
➡For the first time, the Law on Trade Secrets was also adopted, which transposes EU Directive 943/2016 on Trade Secrets.✅
📌It was precisely the amendment of the Law on Trademarks that increased fairness in the market, competitiveness and the offer for the same products, while removing the monopoly of exclusive import contracts of specific products. Through this law, the owner's right to the trademark was also strengthened and the criteria for the degree of damage to the trademark infringement were determined by the court. ✅
📕10 manuals for businesses and citizens were prepared and published on the procedures, importance of registration and protection of industrial property objects, such as: Trademarks, Patents, Industrial Designs, etc.✅
➡ 5076 Patents, Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications were registered and protected, where over 2055 were registered this year alone, which is an increase of 32.9%.✅
📈 In addition. 500 pending trademark opposition cases pending since 2013 were reviewed and resolved.
The first geographical indication "Djathi i Sharrit", with a local owner, was registered. Afterwards, the geographical indications for "Rahoveci" wines and two geographical indications with foreign owners, namely "Gorgonzola" from Italy and "Cognac" from France were also registered.✅
