Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, along with Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, have visited the furniture manufacturing company “Elnor” to look closely at the impact of the recent decision for banning the export of wood.
Minister Shala expressed readiness to continue supporting local producers and announced that the last decision to ban the export, makes the furniture manufacturers more competitive.
"Along with Fatmir Limaj, Deputy Prime Minister, we were on a visit to the Elnor furniture manufacturing company, where 55 percent of the production is export. The reason for the visit is to ensure our continued commitment to the local producer and to see the impact of the decision I have proposed to the government for banning the export of wood mass, and this will help wood companies to be more competitive in the market and in export and will preserve the environment of our country from the illegal cutting that has taken place, "said Minister Shala.
Shala assured local producers of their continued dedication, in order to make it easier to export and this will also help the economic development of the country and the opening of new jobs.
Whereas, Deputy Prime Minister Limaj said that through the visit to this company we wanted to forward messages to all companies that deal with this field.
"A few days ago, Minister Shala has proposed a major decision to the government, and we wanted to see the impact of that decision. What we heard, was an extraordinary decision for the companies and other companies, "Limaj said.
Further, Limaj said that with a dedication and a close partnership of government-business, the results will not be missed.
"Partnership that means helping business, is by creating opportunities and facilities and by eliminating bureaucratic procedures. The future of this country and the economy is safe thanks to the hands of our people who have the courage and initiative ", Limaj added.
Vjosa Ukaj, the manager of this company, said that they were happy about the decision to ban the export of raw materials because, according to her, it influences the operation and sustainability of this company and it also makes them more competitive in the market.
