The minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, hosted at a meeting the World Bank Director for Kosovo, Marko Mantovanelli and his deputy, Diego Martin.
Minister Hasani agreed with Mr. Mantovanelli to start the implementation of the World’s Bank project “Competitiveness and export readiness ".
This grant is worth 14.3 million euros, and will be funded by the International Development Association (IDA), the World Bank Group, which is a fund dedicated to the countries of major development needs.
The World Bank's grand will include three main components: Capital Investments in Technical Labs of National Quality Infrastructure, Inspection Reforms in Kosovo and supporting grands for Kosovo exporting enterprises.
Minister Hasani informed the World Bank Director for Kosovo, Mr. Mantovanelli, on how the grand will be applied and assured him that the process will be fully transparent.
"You can count in my full support and there will be no obstacles or negligence in project implementation. Also, the process will be very transparent and accountable, “said Hasani.
Minister Hasani and Mr. Mantovanelli discussed about the comprehensive reforms of the inspection system, which was considered as very important project.
Also, the ministry's objectives were revealed, where through the grant of 14.3 million EUR, will be applied concrete actions in improving the three areas, where is also foreseen to be implemented the loan.
Mr. Mantovanelli said that it’s the time to start implementing the grand, and according to him, the MTI has worked hard to be in time with deadlines.

The grand will support the Kosovo Metrology Agency, the Standardization Agency, and the Accreditation Directorate to meet the requirements for signing recognition agreements with the International Weighting and Measures Committee and the International Laboratory Cooperation and Accreditation Forum..
