Verification of Compliance with Licensing Rules

The Ministry of Trade and Industry is responsible for verifying compliance with the obligations, terms, and conditions of licenses and the provisions of the Law for the Trade of Strategic Goods, in cooperation with other state bodies. The Ministry supervises persons’ compliance before, during, and after the issuance of a license. The lead entity within the Ministry for licensing supervision is the Department for Control of Trade in Strategic Goods (STGD).

To verify licensing compliance, the STGD – in cooperation with other bodies – can:

  • Request necessary information from license applicants and license holders
  • Inspect license applicant and holder documents and business premises as well as the goods themselves
  • Request information from other government bodies necessary for the implementation of monitoring
  • Request assistance from competent authorities of other countries
  • Monitor license holder compliance with license terms, conditions, and obligations
  • Monitor end-users of goods
