The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI), Jeton Mehmeti, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Kosovo, Borut Blaj, representatives of the European Investors Council, Slovenian companies operating in Kosovo, and representatives of local businesses.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between Kosovo and Slovenia, the role of foreign investments in the country’s economic development, as well as opportunities for creating new partnerships between Slovenian companies and Kosovo businesses.
Deputy Minister Mehmeti praised the contribution of Slovenian investors over the years to Kosovo’s economy, emphasizing that local businesses and producers represent an important potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting highlighted Kosovo’s commitment to developing an open and competitive economy, oriented towards increasing investments, promoting exports, innovation, and strengthening the private sector.
Special attention was given to opportunities for increasing trade exchanges, creating new business-to-business connections, and supporting Kosovo companies to enter the Slovenian and European markets more strongly.
Through continuous dialogue with the business community, MIETI aims to address the challenges and recommendations of enterprises through concrete policies that encourage investments, the creation of new jobs, the growth of exports, and the greater integration of Kosovo businesses into international markets.
Economic cooperation between Kosovo and Slovenia was assessed as an area with great development potential, while the readiness to continue strengthening the partnership and mutual cooperation was reaffirmed.
