The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, received in a meeting the Ambassador of Canada, Jessica Blitt, where discussions were held on improving the trade balance through support for local businesses and the creation of more favorable conditions for investors, as well as on expanding local production and increasing exports as important steps towards a more sustainable and competitive economy.
During the meeting, the issue of increasing economic cooperation and strengthening institutional capacities between the two countries was also addressed, with the aim of deepening the bilateral partnership and creating new opportunities for businesses. The focus of the conversation was also innovation and green transition, with particular emphasis on the development of industrial zones. It was assessed that investment in clean technologies and sustainable production models directly contributes to increasing competitiveness and compliance with European standards.
Furthermore, the importance of women’s economic empowerment was emphasized as a guarantee for inclusive development. Support for women in entrepreneurship and in the labor market was assessed not only as an issue of equality, but also as an important factor for concrete economic growth in the country.
