The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, participated in the launch of the UK-Kosovo Business Forum, an initiative aimed at strengthening economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
On this occasion, Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized that the United Kingdom remains one of Kosovo’s closest and most reliable partners, while the 2021 Free Trade Agreement has created new opportunities for expanding economic cooperation.
She underlined that MIETI remains committed to creating a competitive environment for businesses, promoting investments, fostering innovation and supporting local enterprises in international markets.
The Minister said that Kosovo offers favourable conditions for foreign investors, thanks to the new workforce and potential in the sectors of information and communication technology, manufacturing, renewable energy, agribusiness and creative industries.
Presenting the economic data, she announced that during 2025, exports of goods to the United Kingdom increased by 81 percent, while this positive trend continued during the first half of 2026. Also, foreign direct investments from the United Kingdom amounted to 24 million euros during 2025, while 246 companies with British capital currently operate in Kosovo.
According to Kusari-Lila, the UK-Kosovo Business Forum will serve as a platform for establishing new partnerships, exchanging expertise and identifying new opportunities for cooperation, with the aim of increasing investments, exports, employment and integration of Kosovar businesses in international value chains.
In conclusion, the Minister expressed gratitude to the European Investors’ Council, Executive Director Emrush Ujkani, as well as the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Kosovo and Ambassador Jonathan Hargreaves for their support in establishing this economic cooperation platform.
