Minister Kusari-Lila: There is room to expand economic cooperation between Kosovo and Croatia

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, participated in an event organized by the Council of European Investors, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Kosovo, ahead of Croatian Business Day in Kosovo.

Representatives from the business communities of Kosovo and Croatia attended the event, including the Croatian Ambassador to Kosovo, Danijela Barishiq, and the Executive Director of the Council of European Investors, Emrush Ujkani.

Discussions during the event focused on economic relations between Kosovo and Croatia, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation and increase investments.

Currently, 77 Croatian businesses operate in Kosovo. According to Minister Kusari-Lila, the aim is to further increase this number through joint promotional activities and the creation of new investment opportunities.

Kosovo’s exports to Croatia have increased by 17 percent compared to the previous year, while imports have declined by 11 percent. Nevertheless, the trade balance between the two countries remains in deficit for Kosovo, leaving room for an increase in Kosovar exports and a more balanced trade exchange.

Kusari-Lila emphasized the importance of the relations between the two countries, which, beyond economic cooperation, are built upon historical ties and Croatia’s support for Kosovo during the processes of liberation, state-building, and its European integration journey.

According to her, expanding economic cooperation with Croatia contributes to strengthening and ensuring the sustainability of the relationship between the two countries.
