At the premises of the “AAB” College, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, together with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, line ministers, ambassadors, professors and students, participated in the “Tech & AI Summit 2026” edition.
The summit discussed the opportunities that artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cybersecurity and new technologies bring to the economic development of Kosovo.
Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized the importance of the Information and Communication Technology sector, which represents one of the sectors with the greatest potential for economic growth, innovation development and the creation of high-value jobs.
In this regard, she assessed that one of Kosovo’s greatest advantages is its young population and the talent of young people in the field of technology, which constitute an important potential for the further development of this sector.
To strengthen the technology sector and support businesses operating in this field, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, in cooperation with the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) and LuxDev, has launched a grant scheme worth EUR 1.6 million.
The scheme aims to facilitate businesses’ access to financing and support their development, thereby creating opportunities for increasing capacities and advancing activities in the technology and innovation sector.
The summit discussed also the challenges and opportunities brought by rapid technological developments, as well as the importance of cooperation between institutions, academia and the private sector in preparing Kosovo for the economy of the future.
A special moment of the activity was the honouring by the “AAB” College with the title “Doctor Honoris Causa” for Rudolf Scharping, former Federal Minister of Defence of Germany, for his commitment during the war in Kosovo.
